BRS leader K Kavitha on summons
BRS leader K Kavitha slammed the Centre and said, “It is the nature of the probe agencies to make sure that the ED reaches before Modi wherever there is an election.”
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter and BRS leader K Kavitha on Thursday hit out at the BJP-led government at the Centre and said, “It is the nature of the probe agencies to make sure that the ED reaches before Modi wherever there is an election.” She added that the Telangana Assembly elections will likely be held in December and the government has been sending probe agencies since June last year.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had summoned her for questioning in the Delhi liquor policy case.The BRS leader said she would appear before the ED office in New Delhi on March 11.
Addressing a press conference in Delhi, K Kavitha said, “I could have gone to ED even today and canceled the dharna but I had to send a message that we are not afraid of their tactics.” She also said that she will answer whatever questions the ED asks.
The BRS leader is set to hold a one-day hunger strike at Jantar Mantar on March 10 seeking the introduction of the Women’s Reservation Bill in the current session of Parliament.
The ED had named K Kavitha in the case chargesheet, accusing her of holding a 65 per cent stake in Indospirits, a liquor company. She was questioned by the probe agency at her Hyderabad home on December 11, 2022.
